What is I-CARE?
I-CARE is a charitable trust registered under Indian Charitable Trust Act. It started as a Whatsapp group during Kerala floods 2018 & in 2019 it was formally registered . The Register number is 118/19, Kazhakoottam, Kerala. I-CARE has 17 trustees, including the founder Dr. AK Anil Kumar, Associate Director, ISTRAC, who is the settlor. Dr. S Somanath, Secretary, DOS & Chairman, ISRO is its patron. The motto of I-CARE is "परॊपकारार्थम् इदं शरीरम्". The accounts of I-CARE are audited & income tax returns are also filed. I-CARE has obtained 12A registration from income tax department.
How can I donate to I-CARE activities?
Over the years I-CARE has received more than 1.5 crores from ISRO community for its various initiatives. We collect contribution from serving and retired ISRO employees as monthly contribution or as a one-time contribution. Monthly contribution can be done by providing standing instruction from bank account. One-time payment is generally done for campaign for specific purpose or during special occasions like birthday, marriage, retirement etc.

What are the major activities of I-CARE?
I-CARE has been offering helping hands to ISRO employees/contract staff/trainees and the needy non-ISRO people, suffering from severe illnesses and other setbacks. In addition, education help/scholarship & other charity activities are also undertaken. We give financial assistance on a one-time basis or on a monthly basis depending upon the case.
How to get financial assistance from I-CARE?
Beneficiaries are proposed by ISRO staff members and then selected by the I-CARE executive Committee after scrutiny of the severity of sufferings and their financial background. Accordingly, timely help is extended in the form of monetary aid. Google form is maintained for proposing beneficiaries along with the supporting documents like relevant health records, bank account details. For more details write an E-mail to icare.isro@gmail.com.
